Integrate with Okta
Follow this step by step guide to allow SlashID to monitor and protect your Okta Workforce Identity Cloud.
First you will create an Okta API token with the required permissions to read your data, which allows SlashID to interact with Okta on your behalf. Second, you will use the details of your new API token to configure the integration in the SlashID Console.
Step 1: Create API token
Log in to the Okta Console, and then click on the 'Admin' button in the top right corner to access the Admin Console.
From the menu on the left, select 'Security' > 'API'.
- From the horizontal menu, click on 'Tokens' .
- Click on the 'Create token' button on the left to open the 'Create token' window.
- Enter a name for your token and choose 'Any IP' from the drop down menu. Click on the 'Create token' button to confirm.
- You should now see a 'Token created successfully!' message. Copy the 'Token Value' displayed and store it safely, you will need to enter it in the SlashID Console later.
Step 2: Obtain Okta organization domain
- From any page in the Okta Admin Console, open the dropdown menu next to your user name in the top right corner.
- Copy your organization domain using the 'Copy to clipboard' button and store it for now. You will need to enter it in the SlashID Console later.
Step 3: Create your Okta<>SlashID Integration
Go to the SlashID Console > 'Identity Protection' > 'Configuration' > 'Integrations'. Click on 'Add integration' on the right.
In the horizontal menu, select 'Okta' from the list of providers.
Paste your Okta organization domain and API token in the boxes provided. Click on the 'Connect' button to complete the integration.
SlashID is now monitoring your Okta environment for potential security issues. It may take a couple of minutes for the initial data sync, after which you can start exploring security events in the 'Identity Protection Dashboard' section of the SlashID Console.
You can also receive Okta events as a stream via the SlashID API. Follow the Okta event streaming guide to set it up.
